Always and enjoyable (if incredibly frustrating) visual puzzle guessing the titles of 20 books.

Who's playing this year? How are you getting on?

Got the bin one, thanks @Jewel56

drspouse · 19/11/2023 10:05

And I got the sun one - I knew the author but didn't know the name of this one.

Mothership4two · 19/11/2023 10:16

@drspouse

Woman in hat - character from the TV series on her tshirt who is going somewhere

Annie and her sadness - one word title; if you felt all the titles what state would you be in? Annie is a character in this famous book from the 1980s (also a film).

Books on counter - very literal. What are they describing?

drspouse · 19/11/2023 10:31

For the books on the counter if I put in the word as singular it says "nearly there" but plural, or with The or A it is just plain wrong. Does it need a number?

Mothership4two · 19/11/2023 10:38

@drspouse there is no number or a/the. Same word is used three times in five word title

Adifferentcorner · 19/11/2023 10:39

@drspouse is that the day after today books? How many books are there? Day after today AND……

drspouse · 19/11/2023 10:46

It's fussy and wants commas.

drspouse · 19/11/2023 14:18

Done! The Annie book I'd vaguely heard of but didn't know it was from the 80s, didn't know it was a film and had no idea of the character's names!

DrSpoons · 19/11/2023 15:12

Bestsellers. Three books. Three word title

DrSpoons · 19/11/2023 18:25

I had to put in the answer to lady c three times before it was accepted…

KatBurglar · 19/11/2023 18:28

DrSpoons · 19/11/2023 18:25

I had to put in the answer to lady c three times before it was accepted…

I spelled it with only one T, like a twit.

OP posts:
TheHound86 · 19/11/2023 22:32

I’ve got all of them but lady c which is stumping me.

drspouse · 19/11/2023 22:49

It's a very famous book that there was a court case about when it came out. You may just be spelling it wrong?

Happygranny59 · 20/11/2023 09:17

Re the lion one. Think of a tv programme about British police. The title of the book rhymes with this programme.

DeeHar · 20/11/2023 11:47

Think of one word that sums up all the titles, or means the same as all the titles. It was a famous film a while back too.

JediKnightingale · 20/11/2023 14:18

Got them all except the bin one! Any clues?

InMySpareTime · 20/11/2023 14:24

Have you read all the clues upthread?

JediKnightingale · 20/11/2023 14:26

Have you read all the clues upthread?

Yes and I thought it was “Wastelands” but nope and I’m still stumped!

InMySpareTime · 20/11/2023 14:30

You are close. Google that and see what the actual title of the poem is.

JediKnightingale · 20/11/2023 15:05

Got it - thanks!!

Livres1901 · 20/11/2023 17:23

don’t WASTE your time.
what’s in the basket. Could be a long poem

JennyWren48 · 20/11/2023 17:25

I’ve got 10 and now I’m stuck

JennyWren48 · 20/11/2023 17:36

What are the children reading about. It’s a classic

JennyWren48 · 20/11/2023 17:40

Me too . Any clues.

InMySpareTime · 20/11/2023 17:59

@JennyWren48 look through the thread for clues on all the titles.
