I was talking books today with a friend and a book pinged into my head that I’ve read but can’t remember the title or the author. It was set in ww2 and a girls lodgings was bombed and it was assumed that she had died, but she’d used the opportunity to run away and start a new life! And I can remember her living in the countryside with her family and a figure from the past turned up on her doorstep! And I think her daughter was watching from a treehouse!
ring a bell with anyone? Tia 💐

I've read this! It was great!

But I've forgotten what it's called. Sorry.

@clarepetal lol that’s so funny 🤣 @Dartmoorcheffy hmmm that’s not an author I’ve really heard of! But I was in a book club few years ago so it could have been. I’ll try and find some of the books. Thanks

Could it be The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton?
The Tree House sounds familiar...

Ladybird69 · 03/11/2023 17:19

Ooo @Penhaligon I did read a Kate Morton book in the book club. I’ll just check it out 😁
