Does the seagull pick up the eye and put it in the hand or pick up the hand?

I think the hand picks up the eye doesn't it?????

How annoying can't remmebr and only read this at the beginning of the week. Sorry no help at all!

amazing what you miss when you read a book. We've only recently finished Stig of the dump as a bedtime story and I still can't remember which animal escapes from the circus!

The gull flew low and slowly, dragging the heavy thing. Finally, the gull dropped it by the eye. This new thing had five legs. It moved. The gulls thought it was a stange sort of crab. They thought they had found a strange crab and a stange clam. They did not know thye had found the Iron Man's eye and right hand.

And just before that bit...

" .·..one of the gulls had seen something. He glided low over the sharp rocks. He landed and picked something up. Something shiny, round and hard. It was the Iron Man's eye....

...Then the other gull flew up, wheeled around and picked something up. Something awarkward and heavy..."
