Page-turning mysteries that don’t involve murder

I think I’ve overdosed on Agatha Christie and various modern cosy crimes! Need something a little softer but still page- turning.

Any recommendations for mystery type novels that don’t involve lots of death? I like psychological thrillers but a lot of them feature murder too.

Brat Farrar (another Josephine Tey) is another good one

Thanks everyone.

@JaninaDuszejko Yes agree Austen (as great as she is) probably isn’t quite what I’m after but will check out Ann Radcliffe. I like gothic (and murder mysteries for that matter, but just sick of them).

@Snoopsnoggysnog That’s a good point, will take a look.

Do you like academic mysteries? A S Byatt's Possession is one of my all-time favourites. I love it, but I think it divides people!

@ElizabethVonArnim I’ve heard lots about it but I’m not that good with epistolary type novels where a lot of the story is told through letters. I’ll take a look though.
