Strike's dates

I haven't time to read through them all, so help, please!

In 'The Ink Black Heart' we know the dates because they are always on the posts.

Have we known the year or month of the action in any other of the books?

Yeah. Troubled Blood starts in autumn 2013 and ends in October 2014. It mentions the Scottish independence referendum. Then Lethal White is 2012 as it mentions the London Olympics.

If she's writing one a year she'll never overtake herself 😆
What will happen if/when they get off with each other? Will the books still work?

I'll be interested to see whether the Running Grave mentions Brexit, since JKR has strong views on that. We should be in 2016 by now, right?

Thank you for these comments. After I'd started the thread I realised that somewhere in TIBH it said something about it being 5 years since Robin had dropped in as a two-week temp.
She entered the lists just as he and Charlotte had had a bust-up, on the day of her, Robin's, engagement. Thank goodness he is truly 'over' Charlotte now.

With care I think they could be a couple and work partners as well, but I wouldn't want it to meander on with rows and nonsense.
JK makes a point of letting us know that Strike says he doesn't want children but I wonder what she has in her long-term planning. Strike has never yet settled down in a good relationship. He has developed a fondness for one of his nephews. Nick and Ilse are going to have a baby, I hope, safely, and if so, Strike is going to observe that relationship at close quarters.
Strike doesn't want to give up smoking or chips every day, but he does change a bit, as we all do.........

I don't think robin wants children either though. She loves her career. I think they could definitely have a good relationship without kids
