I’ve seen a couple of these threads recently and have great admiration for the deduction skills shown!

so I’m hoping the hive mind may be able to help….

i read it as a library book in the late 80s / early 90s, and think it was aimed at tweens. It was about ?6 kids in a sports competition, where each kid was really talented at one sport, but they each had to compete in all the sports to find out who was the best all rounder.
I think there were more boys than girls, and one of the girls was called Bonnie. The other girl’s name may have been Crystal and one of them may have been Australian.

one of the sports was swimming and another was bmx riding. Maybe Judo was another?

it was all very cut throat and competitive between the kids, as they were each used to being the star, but then one of them - perhaps Bonnie? - got kidnapped and they all banded together to save her.

can anyone help? It’s driving me mad ( and has done for over a decade now😂)

Hi this rings bells with me and a book I read from our school library in the early 1980s. The book I recall had a similar concept of a group of talented kids with a mystery to solve. I remember a character called Milo who was a skateboarder, I think (although it's possible I've got that mixed up with BMX). Sadly I can't help with title or author but it has niggled me for years!
