Bob Mortimer - The Satsuma Complex

Has anyone read this? I love Bob Mortimer but found it so badly written I couldn't finish it, 100 pages in I gave up.

I loved this book and was pleasantly surprised how good I thought it was. Didn't think it was badly written at all or maybe I just didn't notice as I liked the characters so much.

It was ok. Some of the more whimsical bits irritated me, but I feel like about Bob Mortimer as a comedian too.

I enjoyed it because i adore Bob, however it wasn’t the greatest writing. The character was blatantly Bob and written as he talks.

I didn't enjoy it, in fact I didn't finish. There was a lot of incongruous whimsy which made for a disjointed read.

It is written as he talks which is what makes it so very enjoyable. I could hear him as I read complete with the whimsy and the tangents. It's fun.

I just finished it. I thoroughly enjoyed it but I read it with Bob's voice in my head and that helped immensely. Especially the chats with the squirrel 😂

I love Bob, but I couldn't finish the book. I found the writing really stilted and odd.

I got the audiobook book from the library and listened to it on dog walks. Couldn't stop laughing out loud at some bits. I don't think I would have enjoyed it so much if reading

I have enjoyed his comedy since the Vic and Bob days, and recently started this book, after finishing his autobiography which I quite enjoyed. But I haven't finished the satsuma complex yet and noticed a few unpleasant comments, particularly about women, which left me feeling disappointed. Will give it another go sooner or later
