I just finished that last week.

If you like Rowan Coleman, you'll love Dorothy Koomson. Her book "my best friend's girl" was a R & J book club book, but they are all good.

yes. I read the accidental mother a while ago and I got After Ever After out of the library this morning. Haven't started that one yet though.

Did I thank you for saying that you admired me? If not, I would like to do it now

hi there squonk ordered it today so will send them on. What other stuff do you like?

OP posts:
fryalot · 24/02/2008 20:07

oh, I like pretty much anything. I mainly read crime, but I don't much go for the true life stuff. I like the modern kind of chic lit types, but I'm not a Mills & Boon girl. A bit of comedy always goes down well. Which one have you ordered? Let me know and I'll order a different one

mehdismummy · 25/02/2008 00:03

oh just got this crime book today by a new author its looking good so far. I love crime. Esp jeffrey deaver. Tess g. Martina cole. Patricia cornwell etc. Looks like we have lots in common have to admit i am quite sad that i like jackie collins and jilly cooper too!. I ordered the first book she wrote called growing up twice. And accidental mother. Oh that book i got today is called plea of insanity by jilliane hoffman-if you email me at [email protected] your address we can start!

mehdismummy, I liked Growing Up Twice a lot - it's even set in the Green Lanes area of Haringey quite near where I live.

The Accidental Mother and The Baby Group were fun as well.

Freya North and Sophie Kinsella have also written recent books about their characters having babies.

I also like crime fiction but not most of the authors you mention - except Martina Cole who's quite a good read. I liked reading some of Jackie Collins' earlier books but really didn't enjoy the last one I read, wasn't sure if it was a change in taste or that her writing's gone downhill - I remember being thrilled with the first book about Lucky though I was in my teens at the time...

mehdismummy · 25/02/2008 00:39

hello elk. I live near there too! Where are you? Do you wanna join our exclusive book club! I love green lanes. Esp sports world!

mehdismummy - have emailed you.

Thanks for the comments about the littlies. I think my favourite is the one of ds washing daddy's car

hi elk, are you going to join us with our book swapping thing? should be fun

elkiedee · 25/02/2008 10:25

Hi squonk, I think Mehdismummy and I live within a few miles of each other, and we've been exchanging emails as I might well be able to pass on a few books to your book swap. I have so many books to read at the moment, chicklit, crime, literary stuff, non-fiction, that I don't really need to swap books in order to have something to read.

mehdismummy · 25/02/2008 10:34

well elk you can always get some when you run out! Or just be a silent member!!
