Ive read AMLP and im half way through MFL, theres been a lot of controversy surrounding these books because of parts that have been embelished.....whats your take??

I read AMLP ages ago so I can't remember much except I did find it slightly depressing and long winded and haven't wanted to read MFL because of that.

We read AMLP for our book club and most people loved it. It was a bit too graphic in places - the dentist scene for one, which I think is one of the bits that was perhaps embellished - but well written.

Would like to read MFL but haven't got round to it - would be interested to hear what you thought about it.

Yeah i love it too wheelybug, after reading the first (AMLP) i wasnt sure wheather to go on to the other book (MFL) but im glad i did because its an amazing book, its good to see how his life changes and its also no where near as graphic as AMLP.

I loved AMLP, and don't really care if it is embellished. I found I just read through the graphic bits really quickly going "la la la" in my head! I will look out for MFL too after your recommendation tidytink.

Yeah i would definately recommend it loc, brilliant book and if you are a big fan like me then youll probly be glad to know there will be a film (AMLP) coming soon
