Milly Johnson recommendations please

Just as the title says.
I've been reading Milly Johnson's books lately and I really like her style, however some of the subjects she touches upon were a bit too much for me as I'm looking for something lighthearted to read and relax and not to be on the edge of my seat worrying what will happen next.

What I found uplifting & what made me smile while reading:
The birds & the bees
Afternoon tea at the Sunflower cafe

Too dark for me:
The queen of wishful thinking
Sunshine over Wildflower cottage

Can I please ask to recommend me a Milly Johnson book without domestic abuse/ violence/ gaslighting stuff going on with the characters? I'd really love something similar to the first two books I've mentioned, without anything too sinister.

Milly Johnson is one of my friends.

Have you read the Four Seasons series @toucaninjapan ? I would recommend those, though the Summer one has a bit of daftness in it that stretches belief and so does It's Raining Men but they are fun.

@JoanThursday1972 do you mean she is one of your IRL friends? That’s really exciting!

So far I have additionally read
・The magnificent Mrs. Mayhew
・It’s raining men
・Here come the girls
・A spring affair
You can tell I like her books a lot lol

I have purchased “A summer fling” too but it has a bit of a slow start so I got stuck but thanks to your comment I’m gonna pick it again tonight

I took my mum to a Q&A with Milly in Thurnscoe library the other year - very lovely funny lady!

My mum has all her books and yet I have only read one, which incidentally was brilliant!

I wish it could be Christmas every day!

I loved "The Yorkshire Pudding Club", which I read when I was having a baby at the same hospital!

Ooh thanks for the suggestions, 2 new books added to my wishlist!

@toucaninjapan Yes she is a real friend! She's as lovely IRL as the women she writes about.

I came on to recommend 'A Spring Affair' which I'm re-reading. I love Milly Johnson - she'd be an ace friend I suspect.

My One True North is also good.

She is, she has lots of good advice.

My One True North added to the list!

I wish I had a friend like Milly Johnson. I enjoy the friendship part of her stories more than the romantic bits

Another vote for A Spring Affair, it's very satisfying, especially if you enjoy decluttering!
