Am I missing something here? What is the point in rushing through a dozen books in half an hour where everybody agrees that they are all marvellous. Even DH, who is not a bibliophile and doesn't really watch the programme, commented on it - unprompted - last night.
I must admit that I did see Alan Davies baulk at a book the other week and my estimation of him went right up.
The rest just sound like short, shallow book-cover-blurbs come to life.
I much prefer Radio 4's A Good Read where they go into depth, and sometimes disagree, on just the three books.
