I have just read a book by Isabel Adonis titled “And”. It’s a memoir of her mother. It’s very poetically written. The author is of mixed heritage ( Guyanese/Welsh). There’s a lot of food for thought about gender, race and identity, the experience of being a woman, the private and the public but all related in an understated story telling style. It’s also very much about a family, from 1917 to the millennium. I enjoyed it. Has anyone read the book by the author’s sister, Charlotte Williams titled Sugar and Slate”?
