Has anyone read this book - what did you think?

Did anyone else think it was the biggest load of shit they've read since 50 shades. I was so disappointed. I'd read so many good reviews

I read Verity one of her others.

Dreadful.

Are they aimed at YA?

RambamThankyouMam · 07/12/2022 18:15

Utter shite. The popularity of her books makes me lose faith in the reading public.

SnapCrackleandExplode · 07/12/2022 18:18

@RambamThankyouMam oh yes.

The way her books are constantly being shown on book lovers Instagram accounts is unbelievable. I've not read one but read an excerpt on Amazon and was not impressed at all

tuttifruitti · 07/12/2022 18:23

I agree. Awful book, thought it was just me!

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 07/12/2022 18:24

Yep absolute tosh!

SirenSays · 07/12/2022 18:24

No I saw how popular they were on Tiktok and decided to give it a miss

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 07/12/2022 18:25

SPOILER in case anyone clicks on this thread and hasn't read it

As soon as he first hurt her I worked out exactly how it would end, the title totally gave it away.

Ansumpasty · 07/12/2022 18:27

Awful in the literary sense but such an easy, enjoyable read.

InSummertime · 07/12/2022 18:27

It was shit

endoflevelbaddy · 07/12/2022 21:06

I'm listening to it on audible at the minute. It's dreadful. Not finished it yet but I'm pretty sure it's not getting any better Grin

I should have known better after the same friend that told me to listen recommended Verity. Also awful. I won't fall for it again mind 🤦🏻‍♀️

Skatingqueen · 07/12/2022 21:11

Glad it's not just me.

Perhaps I'm just getting too old for this kind of drivel.

Oh it’s all teenage shite really. Netflix will probably make some teen series about it all. Verity is the only one of her books worth bothering with and even that’s predictable drivel.

LizziesTwin · 21/11/2023 18:43

I’m very late to this thread but I thought I’d listen to it on dog walks & am relieved that I’m not just missing the point. Luckily it’s from my local library so free & I’ll return it now.

SH23B · 26/11/2023 23:12

It was dreadful. I was bought the second one as a gift last Christmas and had to buy the first one. I really wasn't enthusiastic about reading the second one after having to drag myself through the first. A load of nonsense. I agree it's probably the worst thing I've read since 50 shades (read all 3... why??) Obviously don't learn my lessons.
