If I like Ken Follett who else do you recommend?

Love all his books. I'm just reading a very early one A Dangerous Fortune.
I like the history but also his characters and plots. I feel that when I'm struggling to get into anything I can rely on a Ken Follett.

If you liked his Pillars of the Earth series you might like Sarum by Edward Rutherford. I also like Bernard Cornwell.

Cathedral by Ben Hopkins might also fit the bill. It was quite long but I like it and had a Pillars of the Earth vibe.
