Just finished Truly Madly Guilty and really enjoyed it! Stayed up reading far too late because I needed to know what happened the night of the BBQ!
My two favourites of hers are The Husband's Secret, and What Alice Forgot.

I didn't love 9 Perfect Strangers.
Apples Never Fall was a bit slow but I loved how the mother was written.
Trying to remember if I've read the Hypnotist one.
Don't fancy Three Wishes much.
I think I might give The Last Anniversary a go.

Have read most of them but not so keen on 9 Perfect Strangers either.
The Last Anniversary is the best one. I've read Three Wishes but can't remember much about it 😣

LadyCassandra · 02/10/2022 22:16

The Husband’s Secret was my favourite. Big Little Lies is good too.
i’ve started The Hypnotists _ (can’t even remember the full title!) three times and can’t get into it!

mistopheles · 02/10/2022 22:17

I loved three wishes - was my first of her books. Though I listened rather than read if that makes a difference. Really enjoyed nine perfect strangers, just started apples.

AnneLovesGilbert · 02/10/2022 22:23

Three wishes is gorgeous! Likewise Last anniversary. No one loved Strangers, it’s very odd and not really like her at all.

I haven’t read the Apple one but will do soon, I’m at the top of a pile of new books.

I really love her and we’ve had many a thread singing her praises on here, she’s fab.

Amdone123 · 02/10/2022 22:25

I loved 9 perfect strangers, What Alice Forgot and Husbands Secret.
3 wishes was ok.
I really need something to read - I haven't read her others, so I'll take a look.
I enjoyed Big Little Lies, too.

LadyEggs · 02/10/2022 22:34

I listen to her books on Audible and the narrator is excellent, she really brings the characters alive. I loved Nine Perfect Strangers and Big Little Lies. I've listened to five or six now and she's definitely a favourite.

PrunellaMcTat · 02/10/2022 22:58

I read Elizabeth is Missing by Emma Healy shortly after reading What Alice Forgot and I loved it. Similar sort of book, but different.

I found Apples Never Fall a bit slow too but once I got into the story I enjoyed it. She's one of those authors that I recognise in the bookshop but always forget which books I have actually read! I do remember reading What Alice Forgot though.

Chikapu · 10/10/2022 11:11

I love The Husband's Secret, couldn't put it down and would reread it, however, I absolutely hated What Alice Forgot and it put me off reading anything else by her.

DoNutSweatTheSmallStuff · 22/01/2023 08:24

Really enjoyed Big Little Lies, that was the first one of hers I'd read.

Just about to start 9 Perfect Strangers.

Secret Husband and Apples is on my list too.

AuntyMabelandPippin · 26/01/2023 21:44

I love her books.

DoNutSweatTheSmallStuff · 03/02/2023 14:50

Just finished Nine Perfect Strangers.
Wouldn't rate it unfortunately.
Her writing is OK and the characters were good but the plot was a bit silly and unbelievable.
Not a patch on Big Little Lies.

popyourcollar · 03/02/2023 15:00

I love her books! I think What Alice Forgot is my favourite. The Last Anniversary probably my least favourite - I found that a bit twee. Just read Apples Never Fall, it took me a while to get into it, but I enjoyed it in the end.

TheObstinateHeadstrongGirl · 08/02/2023 23:57

I read the Husband’s Secret and The Hypnotists Love Story and found them OK.

LOVED LOVED LOVED Apple Never Falls. The character development was amazing, I loved how all the children’s characters were fleshed out and didn’t expect the ending either

TrustPenguins · 09/05/2023 13:56

Currently reading Apples Never Fall. Am enjoying it so far though it is a bit slow going - and long!! Obviously need to stick with it though to find out what happens!!

TrustPenguins · 10/05/2023 20:29

Finished Apples Never Fall - finally!
It was quite long and slow going.
Unconvinced by how it all tied together at the end and thought maybe the last chapter was unnecessary.
Was an OK read though though don't think it's Moriarty's best work.

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/05/2023 20:55

I’ve started and stopped Apples a couple of times but I’ve got a handful of other books on the go and not loads of time, it’s definitely quite slow and a bit overly detailed so far. But she paints such vivid pictures, there are scenes from all of her books I remember really clearly, she’s got a gift for that.
