It's so . . . damning of small-town Scottish people.
And I just cannot for the life of me get my head round it.
Because I am. Outside a small town.
In an even more remote place.
And people just don't give a stuff!
Or maybe I've not seen it? As an American married to a Scotsman? But you think I would have, because folk don't know that, when I speak.
It's set it present day and I just - cannot buy it.
Especially coming from a Glaswegian.
Mind you, it is utterly beautiful!
The prose is so much a treat.
So completely gorgeous.
