Entering the last 70 pages and still no idea how this is going to end!!! Fab book!

Was only thinking about this last night. I loved the book. Is the film any good?

The film is awful. They set it in the suburbs of NY for some reason.

the film isn’t great … don’t know why they changed the setting. Rachel doesn’t seem fucked up enough in the film.

Its a minor point but I really couldn’t stand Cathy.

Loved the book but the film was crap

Oh the book is fab isn't it? As someone who's had struggles with alcohol in the past, my stomach lurched at the horror she feels waking up after a heavy one and remembering what she's done and said.

Hope you are in a better place now @BreakerOfBras . I have never struggled with alcohol but that sense of being on the outside of society and the endless humiliations and not even caring any more I can identify with. I’m fine now, but the book does take me back to that.

Not seen the film yet. I read some reviews that it is really obvious who the villain is, but they all seem like dark horses to me.

I'm very well thanks @Emeraldopal very kind of you to ask. The book really did hit home in that respect though. Out of interest, was it Cathy in the film you didn't like? I didn't either but I seem to recall in the book I did a lot more. Must re-read though, it's been a while.

I went wrong by watching the film first, it bored me half to death and I worked out the ending about halfway through.
