Starting a RL book group. 'The Kiterunner 'or 'Reading Lolita in Tehran'?? Which best to kickstart the group?

Need one which will easily start discussion and help us over the initial reserve.

Also want people to enjoy the book and get enthused about the group.

What do you think?

Any other tips for running a Book group also appreciated.

I've done the kite runner as a book group, and it went well, with some good discussion.
I think for a first book you dont necessarily want a book that everyone will like, a bit of a discussion and a mix of opinions will help to break the ice.
When my group did the kite runner there was a fair mix of opinion. Some people really liked it, and others didnt, and there was also a lot of chat about the cultural and historical detail in the book.
I havent read "Reading Lolita in Tehran" though.

Personal preference would be the kiterunner. I couldn't get into lolita, it remains unread. If you google reading rgoup you will find reading group guides for many of the popular books, which my group finds helpful to start the discussion.
