Just 1 book for my holiday

Going away for a long weekend and want a recommendation. Just 1 book that you would say I have to read. Won't have much time for more than one.
My favourite books I have read recently are
The Red tent - can't remember the author
The tent the bucket and me -Emma Kennedy
The corset -Laura Purcell
The girl with the Louding voice
Loved the Simon Brett books Mrs Parteger for easy reading
Like crime fiction books but tend to prefer UK based ones.
Hate science fiction and fantasy.
Please hit me with your best one book which is a must!

American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins.
A real page turner, could not put it down!

A man called Ove - Fredrick Backman
Once upon a river - Diane Setterfield

Still Life by Sarah Winman. Completely fabulous imo.

I read Circe on holiday and it was wonderful

YY to Still Life. The best book I have read in ages. A page-turner but intelligently written at the same time with characters you really care about .. and I also learned something about Renaissance art. Just excellent.

Miss Bensons beetle

The push, I've forgotten the author. Really gripping
