Is this worth reading? I have a copy at home that I was going to start next, but just had a look on Good Reads and the first five reviews are all one star! It's not a short book, so I really want to know if I'm going to enjoy it before choosing it over the rest of my list! 😁

I read it about five years ago and liked it so much I kept it in case I want to read it again. I rarely do this. It's big but quite an easy read, although I recall some of the violence being quite graphic.

Depends what kind of books you like. I read it and did not like it, but it’s not my type of book. If you are into Jack Reacher style books, you will like it. I found it too far fetched. The first review on Goodreads gives a very fair summary.

Thanks both.
What type of books do you usually enjoy @Mozartinmyfanjo?

I loved it, and it isn’t my style of book at all. In fact I know several people who feel the same.

this was sat on my kindle for a couple of years after a friend recommended it to me, and I just never got round to reading it. Finally settled down to it on holiday this year and found to really hard to put down. I thought it was excellent.

I loved it, just don’t get too excited about the sequel, which is due out on 13th October.
i pre ordered the sequel on 29/05/2017 and get an email every so often to say the publication date has been put back…Grin

Bobbins36 · 18/05/2022 21:08

Its not bad, I’ll def read the sequel, nothing comes close to Kolymsky Heights if you want a good spy thriller though.

Saltedcaramelprofiterole · 18/05/2022 21:12

I loved it.

Absolutely loved it. Couldn't put it down and like @HoundOfTheBasketballs kept it in case I want to read again. Can imagine it making an excellent movie - the author is also a scriptwriter.

Tend to read 'literary' stuff but not against popular blockbusters if they are well written. This one was gripping.

Thanks everyone, I'll give it a go once I've finished my current book

I really enjoyed it - it has short chapters which makes it easy to read, but lots of cliffhangers so you often want to read on.

JohannSebastianBach · 05/06/2022 18:33

I thought it was pretty ridiculous. I always recommend the ultimate spy thriller (imo) which is the original Bourne Identity. Absolutely brilliant.

florenceandthemac · 06/06/2022 08:30

Oh I'm undecided now whether to give it my precious time 😅

I liked it and I'm a tough critic, but it really is an engrossing thriller.
