Does anything actually happen in this book? I’m at 20% and feel some ruthless editing was needed. So far I’m just getting irritated by the ‘it’s grim up north’ aspect.

I loved The Familiars and The Foundling but I’m having to keep pulling my wandering mind back to this one.

I finished it because I had a bout of insomnia, but that's the only reason. It gets worse - I didn't mind it too much at first.
