Are they worth reading?
I usually read fluffy chick lit and wonder if these are worth a read?
Thanks !

I read the first 4 in a binge and they do get quite repetitive - both in the sex scenes and descriptions!

I got very annoyed at just how historically inaccurate they are, it's one thing to have to ignore Americanisms, but characters act in a way that would be unthinkable to Regency women and it got too much by book 4.

They're nothing like Georgette Heyer! GH meticulously researched the Regency period language and etiquette, but of course her books also reflect her own times prejudices and concerns.

Sophie Irwin (A Lady's guide to fortune hunting/ A Lady's guide to scandal/ How to lose a Lord in ten days) are much better than Bridgerton. Good understanding of Regency period but enough modern sensibilities to make it a fun read.
