Sorry if this is the wrong topic, but I'm looking for an alternative to my kindle paperwhite so I can borrow books from my local library but I need it to 3g or 4g. Can anyone give me any recommendations.

I have a Samsung tablet (Galaxy Tab S2) which I have used for a few years now. It has 4g built in, and for which I use, amongst many other things, as an effective ereader.
You may have to download some software to be able to borrow/read your local Library books.

I have a Samsung tablet but don't find it very good in sunlight and buts a strain on my eyes when reading at night which is why I'm after a back-lit ereader like the paperwhite.

Agree, sunlight isn't great for the Samsung, but you can significantly reduce the glare via settings when reading at night/in bed.

I see people recommending Kobo readers for library books.
