Sorry if I’ve I’ve missed any previous threads about this (I’ve had a look through and can’t find anything).

R2 Book Club was a really busy page on Facebook and my source for good book recommendations with lively debate. Obviously someone said something they shouldn’t have so in the spirit of cancel culture admin suspended the page back in November.

Does anyone know if it has opened up under a different name or is anyone on here on a similar FB book club that I can have a look at? Richard and Judy book club is a bit sedate and I’ve got a DNF hanging around now after a recommendation from there. Amazon reviews tend not to be helpful generally. I’m in the book abyss.

It’s not Facebook, but come and join us on the 50 books thread! You don’t have to read 50 or even anywhere near that. There’s also a 26 books thread if you find the 50 books one moves too fast for you.

I find the 50 books thread on here plenty - but also get great book ideas from Waterstones/Daunt books email newsletters too. Plus Radio 4 podcasts e.g. A Good Read, also BBC 2 book programme 'Between the Covers'

That’s great thanks, I’ll have a look. I’ve always avoided those threads because I thought it was pressure to show off how many books you’ve read or like doing homework!

No, not at all! Although your TBR pile will grow exponentially Grin

Yy to A Good Read for future reading ideas, and World Book Club with Harriet Gilbert .. also excellent.

I used to be on that Facebook group OP and enjoyed it.
It got taken over by spam though and then posts complaining about spam and posts complaining about the people complaining.
😂😂
I've got a massive tbr pile now though thanks to that page!
I went over to the Good Housekeeping book page which is pretty good.

'Lost in a good book' is a fantastic group if you still want to be part of a Facebook group. It has about 50k members and a nice vibe

Thanks Alpaca, I’ll have a look. I tried the Mumsnet group and it isn’t really the format I’m after. I liked being able to see the cover on individual posts to hook me in. Some of the members were utterly bonkers but it did help me choose books.
