Book subscription recommendation

Can anyone recommend a good postal book subscription service. I'm looking for something for my dad, he is in his seventies and likes crime fiction but also politics, biographies, engineering etc. Most things I've found online seemed aimed at different age groups etc.

You might be best talking to your local independent bookshop OP. The one in our village will do a tailor-made service like that .. you pay a certain amount of money - eg £110 for a year of paperbacks, half that for a book every two months etc, plus postage as necessary, give them an idea of the sort of books you want and they'll organise it.
I've just done this as a joint present for a friend's big birthday.
