And can only take three books. My selection would be

Hotel Babylon by Imogen Edwards Jones.
Still Life by Sarah Winman.
And
The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Dare.

What would you all pick? 📚🏝 🍹

Vanity Fair by Thackeray, Tom's Midnight Garden and a collection of MR James L' ghost stories

A Suitable Boy, because it’s huge and I’ve not read it. A Fine Balance because it’s my favourite book. And a book of poetry for inspiration. Maybe Carol Ann Duffy.

Cloud atlas - David Mitchell
The ten thousand doors of January - Alix Harrow
War of the flowers - Tadd Williams

An old favourite - either Hamnet or Rebecca
A chunky one I haven't read - Ducks, Newburyport
And Muriel Spark - All the Poems

I've chosen the very same types as you!

The narration of the audiobook is brilliant too!

@Mediocrates, we’d be fine for reading material if we were stuck on an island together for a long time 😂

We can pool our resources and have double reading material!

OnwardsEverStridingOnwards · 02/02/2022 18:44

@Mediocrates haven't listened to that. Thank you 😊 I'll look out for it ❤️

American Gods - Neil Gaiman
Nightmares & Dreamscapes - Stephen King
Books of Blood - Clive Barker

Surprised that any horrors or thrillers would be included!! I'd go for The Bible, Notes from a Small Island by Bill Bryson to keep my spirits up and War and Peace as I've never read it and that would be a good opportunity!
