DH and I both read a book about 10 years ago, we want to reread it but neither of us can remember what it's called or who wrote it. We had it as a hardback so I think it was probably published around 2010 but thats just a guesstimate.
What we can remember is:
- It's non fiction
- it's set in S America, possibly Brazil
- it's an account of a man in the 18th or 19th Century doing something like mapping the Amazon (not sure about that bit)
- He has a wife who at one point treks 1000s of miles to find him and endures all sorts of hardships.
We both remember that it was a bit like "Longitude" but an easier read.
I've tried googling but didn't get anywhere. Does it ring any bells for anyone?
