I want a paperback book for my Christmas stocking but I am stuck for ideas of what to get. I want one that's easy to read, funny and got a bit of romance - something a bit like Sophie Kinsella. I don't want a Christmas themed one which of course the shops are just full of at the moment.
Any author recommendations out there please.

I love Sophie Kinsella! The undomestic Goddess is my favourite.

One of my favourites is Penny Reid. She has a series called Knitting in the city and each book centres on a member of their knitting social group. She also has a few stand alone but I’d start with the series. Full of an eclectic group of friends who band together to help each other through life and their romantic entanglements.

Kristen Ashley is also wonderful. The Rock Chick series is the most funny and lighthearted of hers. There’s a lot of action and more love scenes than a fluffy romance. The characters are fabulous and really different.

For lightweight chic lit I really like Katie Fforde. Sticks to a formula and always has a happy ending but very readable

Anything by Mhairi McFarlane !

I just read the road trip. A great feel-good read

Sorry...by Beth OLeary

Second Mhairi McFarlane.

I'd second Beth O'Leary I read Flatshare first thought it was great and went on to try others. This was after getting bored of Katie Fforde as I've read so many they are all the same. Needed a different formula!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I was looking on The Works website and The Flat Share is in the 3 for £5 deal so I think I am going to order that one and a couple of others in the offer.
