What/who is this book/author

Trying to recall the name of an author. The book was set in London. The husband was guilty of sexual abuse/kidnap of a child. His wife ended up pushing him into the road/traffic when he was released. The author has written several good crime novels. Ring any bells?

Martina Cole maybe? I've only read one of hers and there was child abuse involved which sickened me so much I would never read another of her books.
