I read the first one of these and really enjoyed the way it was written but I thought the story was inconclusive. It put me off reading any more of them.

Very happy to read that there is another book in this series, reread them many times. Is Simon as insufferable as ever?

Just reading. Enjoying it. Cat as saintly as ever. Father has not yet made an appearance.

I love Susan Hill's style - doesn't waste words.

Is Simon as insufferable as ever? This.
I enjoy the books, though.

@SpeckledyHen just wanted to say thank you for starting this thread. I had a 3 hour drive ahead of me today and went to this area of MN for an idea for audible. Had never heard of this series but borrowed the first one and loved it so far - made the miles fly by.

Finished Change of Cicumstance. Found it somewhat unsatisfying but not quite sure why.

Maybe time for the enigmatic SS to hang up his warrant?

Love listening to these on Audible. I haven’t read any in print, I’ve listened to them and I’m on book 7 now. Stephen Pacey’s reading of them is fantastic. They’re on BorrowBox too.

Simon is just a cipher. Women should steer clear based on the sheer boredom factor. No matter how irresistible the author thinks he is, it must be like dining with a cardboard cut-out.

Cat is Dr Smug "Smuggy" McSmugsperson.

I still have it on reserve at the library.
