If I loved Kate Morton....

what else should I read? KM is my fave author of all time but she hasn't released a new book in three years. I miss not being able to put a book down and its felt so long since that happened.

I'll generally read most things but mystery and/or historical are my favourites (Alison Weir is also amazing but hasn't released a good fiction book in ages).

Any recommendations please?

Lucinda Riley all the way. She's an amazing author, an incredible story teller that totally draws you in from the first page.

Santa Montefiore

Rachel Hoare

Nicola Cornick

I totally recommend them all for history, mystery and a book you cannot put down where you feel you personally know the characters.

I like Barbara Erskine and just read a really sweet book by Callie Langridge A time to change.

Definitely Eve Chase and Katherine Webb. And Harriet Evans' later books are very good family sagas with a mysterious element.

I second Lucinda Riley - The Seven Sisters series, I’ve just finished them and wish I could start all over again.

Oh yes, me too. We have one last story to come though!

Great thread, I'm just about to finish the Distant Hours by Kate Morton which is a fantastic read and very interested in similar authors

Have you read ‘The Sea Gate’ by Jane Johnson? I came across this randomly looking for books set in Cornwall - hadn’t read any of hers before and I loved this book and ended up reading it in two days because I wanted to find out what happened! It jumps between now and during the war - linked characters. Really enjoyed it!
