Recommendations for really summery reads?

Due to this heat I'm in the mood to read some really evocative sweaty sticky summery books. Any recommendations? (Especially if they happen to be available as audiobooks from borrow box!)

I would personally recommend The Beach by Alex Garland and The Lie by C.L. Taylor. Both backpacking trips gone wrong, come to think of it....

Try A Sea Change by Veronica Henry. I love to read her books in the Summer Smile

The Trouble With Sheep and Goats by Joanna Cannon and
Heatwave by Maggie O’farrell

Enchanted April is a lovely read if you don't mind period stuff.

If you like the 'back-packing trips gone wrong' genre, I'd recommend The Ruins by Scott Smith.

I was going to suggest The Enchanted April too

Ooh thanks everyone! There's another hear wave due in the next few weeks, right? 🤞

On The Island - Tracey Garvis Graves. About two people stranded on a desert island.
Or try Emily Barr. I think Baggage is the one I remember, set in Australia.

Sea sisters by Lucy Clarke
Baggage as recommended by pp is great too

You me and the sea by Elizabeth Haynes
