I've just finished this (sorry of I have missed a previous thread on it - I searched but didn't find anything, in my defence!)

I found it very Curate's Egg, ie good in parts, but definitely worth persisting with. I couldn't warm to the police woman (was I meant to?) but towards the end of the book it was unputdownable. And I didn't guess the twist.

Anyone else?

It's a great book. gripping

pursuedbyablackdog · 02/07/2021 12:33

Fuzzy would you recommend it?

pursuedbyablackdog · 02/07/2021 12:33

Posted before I meant. I need a good book to read!

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/07/2021 12:37

I thought it was a bit crap, but everyone else seems to love it.

FuzzyPuffling · 02/07/2021 13:04

pursued I would recommend it. It was different, at least!

I have read one of the books referenced as a research book ("A Mother's Tale" by Sue Klebold, the mother of one of the Columbine shooters) and as a real life experience I found it much more interesting as well as being utterly unimaginable in so many ways. In "Three Hours" I did recognise the influence of Columbine, particularly in the relationship between two of the characters (trying not to give anything away).

I loved it. I listened to it though and the narrator was wonderful. Felt the ending was a tad rushed but other than that it was good!

Really enjoyed it. It gave us a very lively bookclub discussion. Definitely worth reading.

I bought this after seeing it recommended on here and I hated it! I had to give up on it. I thought it was really poorly written, not very believable and I found the relationship between the two brothers really cheesy and annoying. (Sorry).

Disagree that it was poorly written. I thought it was excellent and very descriptive and realistic. Each to their own but I couldn’t put it down. Personally I loved the relationship between the brothers and didn’t find it cheesy at all.

I was looking forward to reading this, but I too gave up on it. I just couldn’t get into it at all. Very disappointing.
Maybe I should give it another go. I got it out of the library.

SOLINVICTUS · 06/07/2021 12:34

I loved it. Was in need of a real page turner at the time that didn't involve new best female friends turning into psycho nutjobs.

Be warned though- on the back of this I read more RLs and they're baaaaad. I wrote a glowing review of Three Hours on Goodreads and she thanked me personally then I felt really guilty because her others are shite.

EmmaStone · 06/07/2021 17:43

I flew through this book, couldn't put it down and felt on edge throughout. Tough reading matter, but definitely a page turner.
