Is anyone a member of this group? Are existing members able to add new members? My request to join has been pending for months. I’ve tried contacting admins more than once and no response. I can only assume I’ve actually been rejected (who knows why, I’m the least controversial person ever on Facebook!) or that the admins are actually inactive and new members are therefore being added by other people! None of my existing friends are members though.

Any tips on getting in to the group?!

Yes, I am in it. Think I just requested to join, answered a couple of the usual type of questions and was accepted.

If you would like to send me a private message with your name I could try to invite you in. Not sure if it is the done thing to give out names on here but I am a genuine, normal person!

Thanks guys... I think I’ll let it go! The thing is, you can read everything without being a member. A few times I’ve wanted to add to conversations on there, hence trying to join. I’ve just allowed it to bug me that I haven’t been approved and admins are non responsive. I suppose it might be because my profile is so locked down - I have had that given as a reason for not being admitted to a group before, but the admin contacted me and explained in that instance (we corresponded and I was admitted once she knew I wasn’t a problem!)

Have you tried deleting your request and resubmitting it, making sure you answer any questions? I run a group and the number of people who miss the questions is surprising.

In fairness, I don't think you're missing much. I was part of the mass flounce a few months ago because it got very nasty over something silly and life is far too short.

Have you seen the 50 and 26 book challenge threads on here? It's book chat with no real attention to the numbers and you can join in at any time.

@FortunaMajor yes - have tried deleting and answering again giving different “favourite authors” in case they objected to my choice!

And I’m active on the 26 books thread - will stick to that!
