Kobo question

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 14/06/2021 17:05

I've seen a book on Amazon, but I can't see if there's a way to transfer it to my kobo. I can read it on my phone, but it's much easier on my e reader. Is there a way, or is my phone or nothing, in the absence of a full kindle? Tia.

Did there used to be an E reader topic, or have I just imagined it? I did look for it!

Is the book not available for purchase on the kobo website?

I'm presuming you checked! There used to be something called Calibre that you could use on a laptop to convert ebooks to different formats but no idea if it's still a thing or would work. Sorry, not much help!

Amazon /Kindle uses their own e-publishing format so doesn't work with Kobos so you need something that will convert the book you bought from Amazon - Calibre is one but I think there are others.

I don't bother purchasing books from Amazon - I just use Kobo.com (they used to do a price match - not sure if this is still the case). Kobo is brilliant for borrowing books from my library too (mine uses Overdrive) saves me loads of money

Thanks all.Sorry, this must have dropped off my list... Due to time lapse, I can't remember which book it was to check on Kobo itself. Will have a go at the Calibre. On Overdrive, do you need to get it on your laptop then transfer, or can you do it actually from your Kobo, @NotSoLongGoodbye?
