Does anyone recognise this book

I read only a couple of chapters of this book quite a while ago. All I remember is somebody was asked to look after a friend or maybe a relative's deli. This was a trendy type place which also had tables for sit in coffees and light meals. The setting might have been Edinburgh. I thought it might have been by Kate Atkinson or maybe Alexander Mcall Smith but still having no luck finding it. Anyone recognise it. Thanks.
