Walnutshell · 16/11/2007 21:09

Hey, I want to know this. But in the meantime, we'll have to use this thread to the same ends.

Ok, my mystery story is children's fiction and involves a girl whose drawings sort of came to life - they involved large stones that moved and she had to keep drawing to get away from the advancing problem. I think she drew a house to hide in. Umm, it was so much better than described there...

LedodgyDickinson · 16/11/2007 21:10

tell us about the book we may know it..

southeastastra · 16/11/2007 21:10

stripeymama · 16/11/2007 21:15

LedodgyDickinson · 16/11/2007 21:22

I've only seen the film but like SEA want to read the book now!

Right who's next?

Oenophile · 16/11/2007 21:22

There is a sequel to Marianne Dreams, anyone read it? Called Marianne and Mark, I think - very different style (no horror/scary aspect) but excellent.

CharlesandEddie · 16/11/2007 21:26

that sequel sounds interesting!

CharlesandEddie · 16/11/2007 21:28

i have a memory of a book in our school library - no idea of the story but remember the pictures were photographs and a boy let go of hundreds of baloons in a bright blue sky

the colour plates have stayed with me forever - would love to find it!

Walnutshell · 16/11/2007 21:29

Oh thank you so much, wonderful MNers!!! This book pops into my head every now and then and I thought I'd never remember it. Had no idea it was a classic. I've added it to my Amazon wish list! A sequel too?! Will look that one up.

Yes, next book description please! (Quick, before I get another one in!)

LedodgyDickinson · 16/11/2007 21:32

It wasn't The Red balloon was it?
