Novels by Elizabeth Chadwick

Anyone read any? I am particularly interested to know if anyone has read "The Greatest Knight". I was browsing in a bookshop yesterday, looking for present ideas for me this Christmas and I came across her books. I have not heard of her before and I did not have long to look at her writing. Reading reviews on Amazon, I am wondering if I will like her books or not. I read a lot of historical fiction, but I prefer the more masculine novels, eg Bernard Cornwell, Mary Renault, Forrester, O'Brian, as opposed to romantic fiction. Could anyone tell me which sort of historical novel Chadwick writes or what sort of book "The Greatest Knight" is?

Yes. Women. And men. and true passionate love. Against the odds in some way. And against an exciting historical background. I think I read one that involved the War of the Roses.

have you read any of rose tremain's historical novels (restoration, music & silence)? well written & not too girlie. my sil reccomends an instance of the fingerpost too, by iain pears i think.

Thanks. I will look them up on Amazon. I know I am going to sound mysoginistic (whatever the word is) here, but I tend to dislike books written by women, but I am open to ideas (after all, the great Mary Renault was a woman!)
