YAY

Hate that sort of fiction, but DH loves it so at least one sale to the LGJ household.

Naartjie · 16/11/2007 19:41

Flame · 16/11/2007 19:45

DH is a fantasy trilogy readerer

michaelad · 18/11/2007 14:51

The title of the first one is "the Adamantine Place" (BoM has read the synopsis),I've just seen the press release and it said that publishing date is summer 2009. That's still a long way away..but I will keep you updated!!

Congrats, so exciting. He must want to flash his bum to the world with pride .
My mum's just had a 2nd novel accepted. I always face-out her first novel on shelves in bookstores and libraries, no doubt that will soon become your hobby too.

michaelad · 18/11/2007 16:59

Yes, I'm sure it will when the time comes! Link to your mum's novel, please!

Wonderful michaelad! We have a lot of sci-fi and fantasy fic readers in our library - I'll make sure I put a purchase request in once they are near to publishing date (you might need to remind me though )

michaelad · 18/11/2007 18:27

oh miaou that would be absolutely fabulous. I have no idea though how I'm going to be able to remember to remind you for 18 months

dooley1 · 18/11/2007 19:02

oh my god, can't tell my dh he will be so He sounds exactly like your dh - has written fantasy all his life, even at one ppint went part time to fulfil his dream and finish his book but he got writer's block and was absolutely gutted

dooley1 · 18/11/2007 19:03

oops.... meant to say CONGRATS not just post our own tale of woe

Miaou · 18/11/2007 20:23

LOL michaelad

Flame · 18/11/2007 21:32

Booquets - what is your mum's book?

michaelad · 19/11/2007 10:22

Dooley, then tell him about dh and tell him to never give up!! We never thought it would happen. He was ready to give up around the time when he met me and I told him not to. Because what he had written deserved to be on a bookshelf just as much as any other book out there and not to languish in a dark drawer.

Booquets' Mum's book, always happy to plug! Perfect Xmas pressie for mature ladies or chicklit fans who are fed up with thicko heroines like Bridget Jones. It's very funny too.

michaelad · 19/11/2007 12:32

Booquet, have just added your mums book to my wishlist!

I assume there's another woman publishing by the same name or has your mum written the "how to mix killer tracks in your bedroom" too? LOL

Oh yes, I spotted her once Googling idly! PMSL

boo64 · 19/11/2007 13:48

That's great news - congratulations! I found it quite taxing trying to get a book deal for my non-fiction book and I guess fiction must be way harder to sell!

When I got the email to say I'd got my book deal I screamed out loud (frightening my poor little ds!)!

I too was surprised at how long it takes for a book to go from being submitted to published. I guess it gives us something to look forward to!

Am so impressed that he managed a fiction book - I don't think I'll ever achieve that - well done him!
