I read it maybe three years ago and can’t for the brain fogged life of me remember the title. It flips across decades but it’s an ageing socialite / high end prostitute in France trying to find someone to pay her way. The flashbacks are about her childhood on a remote island in Ireland where she was doted on by her father whilst her mother was making plans to leave the island with her brothers. Have googled but my terrible description is not doing me favours!
