Girl with Dragon Tattoo sequel

I've just finished book #2 and waiting for book #3 to be delivered. I know there's another trilogy after them, which wasn't written by Larsson. Anyone read them? Are they as good as the originals?

I read one of them and hated it. Definitely not up to the standard of the original trilogy. Not read any of the others.

I read the one after the original trilogy and it was terrible! I wanted to like it but it really jumped the shark. The actual writing wasn't too bad - it was the plot, characters etc were just so silly, cliched and ott. The main character (forgotten her name!) Went from being a troubled genius (in the first trilogy), to basically being the cleverest-person-in-the-world-ever-who-was-also-a-super-hero-and-also-everyone-fancied-her. If I recall correctly she solved Fermat's theorem whilst speeding on a motorbike on her way to defeat an all powerful conspiracy of bad guys. Or something.
I like a bit of escapism, and can suspend my disbelief to some extent but it just went way too far.
