I haven't read in years since having my DS3. But I want to get back into it. Can anyone recommend anything good? I'm not into girly love story books, I normally like crime/ thriller ones but open to anything different. Nothing too taxing as I'll be reading it either after a 12 hour shift at work or a day with a 3 year old Grin

This was such a good read I couldn’t put it down, and I rarely read these days. I passed it onto DM and she loved it too. Book 2 is due to be released in September, it’s going to be a long wait!

The Tana French series are excellent (Dublin Murder Club). And I love Sophie Hannah too!

I've been reading Ellie Griffiths' fictional Ruth Galloway novels. I think there's about a dozen now. She's an archaeologist in east anglia and the books centre on modern crime scenes and with local folklore twists.

Jeffery Archer books are good. ‘not a penny more’ springs to mind.

Away with the Penguins - not a thriller but a nice gentle read. Feel good book (but not chick lit)

Mrs Benson beetle - as with penguin book,

Jilly Cooper - saucy but well written

If I ever go through a patch of not reading or I'm really tired and distracted I always start again with one of the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency books. They are so gentle and always get me back into reading.
