Posy Simmonds - Tamara Drewe - new book out!

The mighty Posy has a "new" graphic novel coming out soon - Tamara Drewe. Guardian readers who have been following this in serial form probably knew this already, but I thought her fans who read Other Papers might be interested!

PS I found it in the darling Red Wheelbarrow Eng-lang bookshop in Paris, along with about 20,000 other books I wanted. Detail of its charmingness: we had a little friend of dd's with us who wanted "a fairy book" and in the entire shop we could find but one Daisy Meadows item "and I've read that one" she said mournfully. It also had a piano where ds practised his Grade 1 pieces and nobody complained.

I LOVE how she draws babies and toddlers - round eyes, circular noses (usually with fingers in). DS1 used to look exactly like a Posy baby.

my mum and dad had a lot of her books, they are genius, absolutely genius

i loved it when they went shopping to bivouac!

just got back from mum and dads and have brought 4 posy books back with me, so i am going to take to my bed later and read them !

On my Christmas list too and hoping I can persuade my book group to have it as one of their choices.

Heard her talking about this on ... um... not sure... may have been 'Midweek' on R4 last week. Loved it in the Guardian but will get this and re-read (including the weeks I missed for various reasons!).
