Can anyone (teachers maybe?) remember the name of the man who writes those humorous books about when he was a school inspector?

I've only read one but enjoyed it - quite gentle kind of humour if I recall.

Really enjoyed one but found others a bit samey.

I bought my Mum (a TA) a set of Gervase Phinn books for Christmas last year - she enjoyed them, said they were like James Herriott but for teachers

I wondered about it as a Christmas present to the teacher. Dd's teacher is a man and is always telling them loads of funny stories so he has a good sense of humour.
