I know she's a marmite author - but cluck me, that was fab.... no houseowrk or cooking done for the last week, and my firends think I have had my phone cut off...really nasty twist that I didn't see coming. Have read a few - what were your favourites? Is Mercy any good?

ive got a couple knocking around here that you can have if you haven't read them.

hang on let me see which ones they are.

tiredemma · 27/10/2007 16:13

I have got
'Plain Truth' ( which i loved)
'keeping faith' ( couldnt get into - but mainly because I was also doing uni work at the time and had to sacrifice 'leisurly book reads')

Perfect Match ( cant find it but know its in the house somewhere)

omeN666 · 27/10/2007 16:23

Take it you have read my sisters keeper.

I am half way through tenth circle which is ok, can pass it on when I am finished.

Have read a few as I got them from the library and they are all readable and dont get bored.

omeN666 · 27/10/2007 16:23

oh keeping faith I quite liked.

emmatomATO · 27/10/2007 16:29

I looooove Jodi's books - have read them all.

I had to find another author and now love Lee Child with his Jack Reacher stories.
He's also got a great way of writing that keeps you gripped to the end.

God, wish I could write stories like they do!

Hi TiredEmma (loving the name similarity) - Thank you so much for such a sweet offer, but I am really happy to go to the library and don't want tired ladies to have to go to the post office!!!!! I have read Plain Truth - not sure about keeping faith - would you recommend it? Perfect match isn't the one about the suicide pact? Can't remember. I have read my sisters keeper, omen, didn't see the twist in that one, but it was such a sad sad book all the way through. emma Tomato, I am with you - I love her too and don't undersand why people complain she is samey - if you are fed up with MaccyDs you go to pizza hut, IYSWIM. I do love her writing, more than the plots - its like caramel I love to chew over some of her sentences. What was your favourite? Oh yes, have also just read Lionel Shriver 'We need to talk about Kevin' - a bit like the pact but far more intense and a very gripping ending... thought about it afterwards for weeks.

Hiya - me again. I've got a few you can have (the new ones about the school shooting (17 Minutes or something and the 10th Circle and possibly a couple more). I'll pass them on when you come down this way next month... or they're off to the thrift shop.
I've just read the Kite Runner which was ace and The Island by Victoria Hislop which was also fantastic.

BitTiredNow · 27/10/2007 19:35

scoots - I've got a nasty feeling we're going to get on!!!!!

Just finished vanishing acts which I enjoyed

omeN666 · 27/10/2007 19:37

oh will take some of the other reccomendations here to the library with me as need some new reads

Scootergrrrl · 27/10/2007 19:38

I've quite liked all her books although Plain Truth was my favourite. And BTN - any mate of the massive-bosomed one is bound to be a friend of mine

Apart from the tidiness....

I'm nowhere NEAR as houseproud...

Piffle · 27/10/2007 19:40

Mercy was not half bad

Olihan · 27/10/2007 19:48

Perfect Match is the priest/child abuse one which I didn't like at all, couldn't empathise with the main character and it was all a bit too far fetched for me. I didn't particularly like Mercy for the same reasons but that is one of hr first ones that has been republished.

Keeping Faith was good, a bit far fetched again, but much nicer characters. I also liked 17 Minutes and Plain Truth. Disappearing Acts is definitely worth a read if you haven't already.

EmmaTomato, dh loves the Jack Reacher series and I read one of them on holiday once I'd finished my books and really enjoyed it. I usually prefer trite, chick lit rubbish but I can see me getting into those.

tiredemma · 27/10/2007 19:52

Agree about Perfect Match. Keeping Faith i could not get into, But Plain Truth was a very good read, I really felt for the caharcters in that book.

BitTiredNow · 27/10/2007 19:53

Blimey scoots she's changed then - she used to be v v relaxed on the house front - I suppose dd2 is older now.... but I am very scruffy in the hosuework area (see Op). Still a bit disturbed aobu t the ending odf Salem Falls - did any of you see it coming or am I gullible?
