It's the only place I get a few mins' peace and quiet .

Needs to be non-fiction as I need longer periods to concentrate on novels. Pretty easy to read but not too middlebrow! And if it's funny, so much the better.

My last two loo books were by Peter Cook and by Kurt Vonnegut, to give you some idea of what I like...

NB was going to post this in 'Adult Non-Fiction' but there are only 5 threads there so you bookworms are evidently all over here!

Think this needs a 'general' sub topic for threads like this.

The reading in my loo is all chosen by my teenagers - we currently have 'Bad Hair', both the bunny suicide books & things to tell small kids. We also often have the book DD is currently supposed to be reading for Eng Lit A level.

Not sure I should admit this... - but I do logic puzzles....

Is It Just Me Or Is Everything Shit, by Lowe and McArthur. I don't usually like those list books, but this one is really funny.

The Spectator
Private Eye
The Economist

all with short enough articles for a quick "visit".

muppetgirl · 18/10/2007 13:37

complete uses of a dead cat

very silly

MegBusset · 18/10/2007 13:42

Already have Private Eye in there! Probably looking for something a little more meaty.

They have me in fits as they are so silly. My brother had them first in his loo!

My b/f's mum had a stack aBout 2 feet high of hello's, okay's anD other quality mags. I used to spend hours reading them as they went back for years!!!

SORRY! NOT MEATY AT ALL [GRIN]

Sunshinecursedmummy · 18/10/2007 14:08

What about Piers Morgan's The Insider - very funny and easy to pick up and put down.
Also some of my bathroom reading books are The Shops by India Knight, Eats Shoots and Leaves by Lynn Truss and the Schotts Miscellanies.

Wasting Police Time by David Copperfield.

Viz Magazine 'Profanosaurus', by Roger Mellie. Perfect toilet humour.

pyjamagirlgotbitbyvampires · 18/10/2007 22:39

Adrian Mole know it's fiction but very easy to dip in and out of and hilarious

janestillhere · 18/10/2007 22:44

FHM's book of true stories has me rofl.
Good I'm on the loo really eh?

ScaremyVile · 18/10/2007 23:01

Schott's Almanacs are really great for dipping in and out of.
Very amusing and great for random trivia, facts and figures.
