I'm not a big crime fiction reader (But I have enjoyed the Strike series), and I'll confess I am a bit sniffy about formulaic 'trashy' crime fiction - thousands of 'thrillers with a twist you'll never see coming' that are the 'must read of the year', mostly with three short word titles like He Saw Me and I Go Back type of thing. Dark covers, yellow font.

Does The Silent Patient fall in this group? It's 99p on the Daily Deals.
It seems to have been around for a while, and has lots of fans. So worth it or not?

Sorry if I'm too late, I enjoyed this and found it entertaining and pretty well written. I think it's much cleverer and better written than the ones you don't like even if you guess the twist (I also am picky with my crime fiction, this is more psychological thriller)

Hmm I’d say that it does fall into that category a bit. T was ok, but not particularly memorable or different imo.

It’s definitely worth 99p and not in the cliched genre you are describing. Well it is cliched but it’s a really good read and far better written than a lot of that material.

I'd say it definitely falls into that category and it's not one of the better ones!

However it's quite enjoyable and I'd pay a pound or two for it.

Oh I really liked it, and i'm not often fussed about crime novels.
