Books for girls aged 5-7

Just wondering if anyone can recommend some books for the 5-7 age range please. I would like to get my god-daughter some books for Christmas, but I am out of the loop for what's popular/realistic for that age. She's in Year 1. Her parents do still read to her, but something she can read independently would be great.

Any suggestions please? I'm open to sets/series as well as individual books.

Isadora Moon and Amelia Fang are popular here.

My daughter at that age liked Dick King Smith's 'Sophie' series, Michael Morpurgo 'Mudpuddle Farm', Jill Barkers 'Brambley Hedge' books.

I have a Year 1 DD and she loves the Isadora Moon books. She also likes the Claude books by Alex T Smith.

The Ramona Books by Beverly Cleary.
I have no idea why they are not more we’ll know in the UK. They are American and a few decades old now, but absolutely timeless and placeless. They see the world through the eyes of a 4-10 year old wonderfully!! I loved them when I was a child, and have recently reread them to dd (6 when we started), who loved them too.Ramona books. They are chapter books. I started reading to dd, then we shared the reading, then she finished the last one herself.

The Worst Witch is a big hit here.

Thank you very much for all these suggestions. I'm having a lovely time checking them out. She's a real bookworm so it's great to have plenty of ideas.

As a heads up, apparently Goodnight stories for Rebel girls features a trans girl.

My dd loved The Owls of Blossom Hill and books by Holly Webb.

Ottoline Series by Chris Riddell

My 6 year old loves Dr Seuss books. Her auntie bought them a few Christmas's ago for her older sister and they have been a firm favourite. A real mix of ones that can be read independently and ones that need a little help with.

Another vote for Ramona Quimby. I read them as a child and adored them. My 7yo boys and girls have also loved them. Timeless

My 6 year old girl loves The Worst Witch, Horrid Henry and Chris Hoy's Flying Fergus series.

I need to buy her the Ramona books too- I loved them as a child!
