For fiction, Sarah Waters' The Little Stranger. Kazuo Ishiguro, A Pale View of Hills. Sarah Moss, Cold Earth.

I was thinking fiction but I loved and am seriously inspired by ‘the secret token’ an obsessive account of the Roanoke mystery.

I’ve enjoyed both of those, great recommendations!

I’m pretty sure that Picnic at Hanging Rock isn’t true, but I thought it was for years - a great read though.

It’s not true but I believed it was and that made it even better!

Josephine Tey’s A Daughter of Time is about the princes in the tower.
