My dad is sick at the moment and need something to read, he's read all of Dick Francis and is currently working through Felix Francis anyone know of any books based on the racing World?

John Francome and Jenny Pittman might be worth a try.

Although they’re not based around horse-racing, there’s a solid thread about racing in Peter Temple’s Jack Irish books. If your Dad finds the Felix Francis books a bit of a wan iteration of Dick Francis at his best, he might Jack Irish to his taste.

Glenis Wilson has written half a dozen or more eg Blood on the Turf.

Richard Laws is another.

There are a couple of books by A P McCoy which are racing related.

Horse Heaven by Jane Smiley - not quite the same kind of book as the thrillers, but definitely about racehorses and a great book.
